More Mary, and Advent Day 5.

Hello friends!

Is it plagiarism if you use your own words? As a consummate recycler I think my opening paragraph from yesterday still applies!

It's another cold and frosty morning here today and it's barely 16C in the living room again.  I had to go outside this morning all I can say is brrrrrrrrr!!! chilly chilly chilly.  End of plagiarism! All I will say is I'm convinced I've now got frostbite from hanging the laundry on the line, but dried laundry in fresh crisp winter air smells wonderful.

Today's door is number five. December marches on relentlessly, doesn't it? Hidden behind foliage and what I'm going to say elderberries we find a little mole digging his way through the cold ground poking his nose up to see what he can find.

Continuing with my Mary Engelbreit books as promised, she has illustrated several classic Christmas stories, including this one today, the much beloved  'Twas the Night Before Christmas.  Again, it is beautifully illustrated, but comes with the bonus of a delightful piece of gift wrap sealed in the back cover!

Until next time

Stay safe, stay well, and stay warm!

  1. I have to say, I was glad to get in from my outside chores today. Not that I have had time to sit down - cooked roast chicken thighs for Keith's evening meal, (with accompaniments),and made an absolutely RUBBISH beef and tomato curry for me. I just can't seem to do my old faithful bung-it curry any more. Probably because I am not in the mood for cooking these days and "don't care" equals "didn't turn out well".

What a lovely book - just beautiful illustrations. I am still not really feeling Christmassy. It will come.

  2. We are having a cold snap as well, Deb. Raking leaves this morning has left me chilled to the bone. I love laundry dried on the line, but when it is bitterly cold it doesn't happen. Please say you don't have frostbite! Sorry to hear it is still cold in your home.
I believe you can quote yourself any time you wish.
Lovely seeing Mary Engelbreit book illustrations and your Advent calendar. So charming !
    Stay warmer, my friend. xoxo

  3. The Mary books are great. Do you have The Snow Queen? Oh, some fave illustrations there! It's cold here but no snow yet -- and that's fine with me!
