Post Storm Catch up

Hello Friends!

Thank you all for your concern.  I hope you've all survived Darragh.  It was a doozie and we took a pasting.  Lots of damage around the village with trees down, roads blocked, the roof flew off the local petrol station, fascia boards and signage down in the road all over the place, flying slates, fencing panels and more.  Most people heeded the Government advice and stayed indoors, but there's always someone who doesn't.  Flood alerts were in place, and all ferry services cancelled while bus services were suspended and trains not running at all.  The power is out in pockets across the peninsula, thankfully at the moment I'm okay but where power is concerned it can just go out.  It also affects the water pumps, so I might have power but if it's off at the water station then we'll be without water.

It is still very blustery here with winds still around 50 mph but easing by the hour now.

I'm just going to share the missed Advent Calendar pictures today then pick back up tomorrow.

Until tomorrow . . .

Day Seven

Day Eight

  1. So happy to hear you are okay Deb. Hopefully your power and water will stay connected. Your Advent calendar looks lovely. The robin is my favorite. Happy Sunday!

  3. I'm glad to hear you're okay. It sounds like you are in one of the worst affected areas. Fingers crossed your power and water won't go off. Xx

  4. Glad you survived - you had it worse than us wind-power wise, although still plenty of trees down hereabouts and a LOT of flooding. Tam without power, fencing flattened and complete loss of fridge/freeze contents. I am currently baking up a storm to help fill it with my version of "ready meals". (Pies and Pasties).

Never had an advent calendar when I was little. The children had one each year, but I think the chocs came from a tin as there were 3 kids!

  6. It was nice to see this post, and I am hoping that your power and water have stayed connected.
We have had some trees blown down, but didn't lose power, although many homes did! It really has been a very strong storm.

I enjoyed seeing your Advent calendar pictures, it looks lovely.

    Continue to take good care.

    All the best Jan
