Advent and Christmas Eve

Hello Friends!

A gentle reminder today that not everyone is merry and bright at this time of the year and that some of us are struggling just to get through each day while those around us, wrapped up in the holly jolly spirit of the season go about their days blissfully unaware of the pain that lies within the hearts of so many. So, be kind to everyone, for you don't know their story.

Everything is as ready as it's going to be now. Shopping is done and in the fridge and freezer. I have already eaten the box of Milk Tray. I did not enjoy it. Either my tastes have changed or they've made a tweak too far. Radio Times has been checked and viewing list made. Presents are exchanged. Cards written but not posted. I will spend the afternoon on the phone.

Wishing you all a Peaceful and Happy Christmas!

Nadolig Llawen i chi gyd.

Until next time

  1. Hope your day is the best possible.
On the news today they were talking about how many people will be spending Christmas Day alone - lots of younger people by choice. It's the week after Boxing day which will be spent mostly alone that I find is hard work. Glad when we get into January and things are back to normal.

    1. Thank you Sue. Yes, now it is roll on the New Year and normality! At least you are able to get out and about in your car if weather permits! Happy Christmas.

  2. Not your tastebuds.
The American company which used to be Cadbury’s has just lost the Royal Warrant. The chocolate has been adulterated and doesn’t deserve the name.
    Have a healthy New Year.

    1. Along with hundreds of other brands! The Royals have purged the list. A lot of it is my own tastebuds and the medications I am on for Parkinson's, but I agree that changes have been made to the recipe.
      Happy Christmas!

  3. Shame that you didn't enjoy the Milk Tray, do you like Black Magic? I always used to like the orange creams, but not had a box in recent years, so they too may have changed!

I hope you enjoy your Christmas Diner from 'Cook'.

Thinking of you and sending my good wishes for a peaceful Christmas.
Enjoy Gavin and Stacy if you watch it.

    All the best Jan

    1. I'm not a fan of dark chocolate or Black Magic, although we always had a box of it in the house for Christmas. So many chocolate assortments simply are not the same.
I shall be watching BBC all afternoon, right through from the King's Speech, excluding East Enders.
I hope you enjoy your day with the family and that the grandchildren don't get too hyperactive!

    2. Thank you, I did have a lovely day with the family.

Hard to believe that the last weekend of 2024 is almost here.
We've certainly not had a white Christmas in fact it's been horribly grey and misty/foggy at times.
Thinking of you and sending good wishes.

      All the best Jan

  4. Belated Christmas wishes (my first day looking at blogs in nearly a week!). Happy Boxing Day (I suppose not much is left of it) and a good holiday week to you!
