Top of the Pops

Hello Friends!

I don't know how much longer I will be able to type. It really is an effort now but I intend to keep going as long as I can. Good days, bad days, and they can't find the balance needed in my medication. I have an appointment to see the doctor in February. I found out he is a general doctor not a neurological specialist. If I see him in February, it will be 16 months since my last appointment. This, my friends, is the state of our NHS, once the envy of the world.

Anyhoo, all day long I've been encountering messages from the Universe nudging me with little reminders of my favourite things. I think she's trying to get me to focus on something positive, given all the events of recent days, so I have drawn up my Top Ten Favourite Things List. In no particular order:

Bees

Lavender

Umbels

Sunflowers

Fungi

Pumpkins

Starry skies

Moonlight

Dandelions

Raindrops

As I was going along, I realised there are so many more favourite things I could have included but will save that for another gloomy day!

Until next time
Keep swimming!
Debbie xx

  1. Beautiful photos
Keep typing as long as you can and that seems a very long gap between appointments

    1. I should have been seen in May, it's been rescheduled three times now. It is atrocious!

  2. What great photos of favorites Deb. It's difficult to see specialists here. The hoops one must jump to be seen is alarming to a patient. So sorry to hear you are having the same but even with a general practitioner is alarming. Take care my friend.

    1. Health care standards seem to be diminishing everywhere. What are we to do? As you know, our local GP surgery has now closed and we have to travel to see the doctor now. Where will it all end? Take care, let's try not to fret, and have a good weekend!

  3. I'm sorry you have to wait so long to see the doc. That's terribly difficult. It's getting to be the same here. I know cancellations are unlikely but I hope one happens. I loved your favorite things list. We shared many of the same!

    1. unfortunately cancellations are not a thing in the NHS, however, "no shows" are common and annoying for those of us willing to attend.

  4. I am so sorry to hear of the length of time it takes to see your specialist . Sending you lots of healing prayers. It was my knees for me and I could barely walk. I have had both replaced in the last eighteen months. What a God send!! Take care of yourself. Belinda

    1. Thank you. I understand knee surgery is not a walk in the park {no pun intended} and the post surgery recovery is painful but worth the new knees in the end.

  5. I believe that many word processing softwares have a dictation feature built in. Word's is not perfect, and I have to search every time. Might save your fingers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=csYXDIu2O50

I agree, re: NHS, and of course, as you know, our GP surgery closed.

    1. thank you for your kind words. my eyes seem to be leaking now.
I'm afraid our NHS is very broken and this is a worry for us all. Once the envy of the world!
      enjoy your Sunday, Debbie

  8. I wouldn't know where to start with my favourite things.
I think you said you couldn't get on with speech recognition but what about Youtube - you could add photos rather than video and voiceover or podcasting.
Martyn's dentist has shut down and my dentist has 1500 on the waiting list for NHS treatment but can fit private patients in on the same day.
I don't think it is just the NHS that is broken.though.

    1. My speech recognition is simply not working, not my fault it's something at source with Microsoft. I'll keep on as long as I can.
We live in fear of our dentist closing down. I know someone travelling 60 miles to one. A relative just paid £600 for private treatment as they do not have an NHS or Denplan near enough to them.
