Blossoms and Blooms

Hello Friends!

It was inevitable, I suppose, and last Tuesday evening with the most quietest of pings my back went into a spasm and I've been in pain ever since. Thankfully, the weather is inclement so I am not actually missing out on any gardening time, and with strong winds and heavy rain, possibly thunderstorms, coming in the next few days it gives me an enforced stay indoors and time to heal. ~~~sighs~~~

So, this morning, after a day and a half of chilly winds and soft, gentle, constant rainfall, the garden is looking brighter, refreshed and restored {only wish I could say the same about myself!} and here are a few photographs I took on a short hobble around the lawn and borders {I couldn't manage the few extra yards down to the berry patch, but I'm sure all the work of recent weeks is being quickly undone after the rain!} ~~~

I think everything is looking good, but it's the bits in between that you don't see that I fret about!

I have managed to find my old Instagram account, and if you are on there you may like to make yourself known. Some of the photos will be the same, there will be different ones too, and it's just another social media platform, as we all like something different, so here is the link for you, if you are interested ~~~

Until next time ~~~
~~~ Deborah xo
  1. So sorry to hear about your pain, I am in the same situation, I don't know what I have done but I have a trapped nerve I think, it is causing pain in my lower back and hip and I keep get horrendous shooting pains in my leg, we walked around the car boot this morning and it has eased a little, anyway I wish you a speedy recovery. Your garden looks so lush and healthy, luckily we have had some rain and the garden has really appreciated it, thanks for sharing your IG I have followed you, you will see my under mrsmarlenes.
    Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
    1. Ooooouch ~ that sounds like sciatica. I've had that once, a long time ago. It can be totally incapacitating so I hope yours heals quickly. Yes, I found you and followed back!
      Hope you got some bargains at the boot sale? Deb xo
  2. Hope your back soon heals.
    My peony has been in bud for nearly a month, I'm beginning to think it's never going to open up
    1. Thank you ~ it is so frustrating, still ~~~
      Yes, the peony has only just started opening after weeks and weeks of teasing me! Not as many buds this year, but the foliage is rampant.
    1. We had a good soaking overnight, and more to come {with winds} tomorrow and the rest of the week. It looks as if most of the rest of the country is going to get rain tomorrow, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
  4. I do hope you are feeling better, Deb. It's so frustrating when the spirit is willing but the body is not. Your lovely flowers surely are cheering you as you rest and recover. xoxo ♥
    1. Thank you, my friend. At least the weather is not great for gardening so I don't feel that frustrated at the moment. Catching up on reading! xoxo
  5. Oh, how awful! I know how you hate to be laid up and unable to do what you want, not to mention the pain. I hope you are completely pain free and able to do what you want very soon.
    The side view of the yellow rose, with the sun lighting up the petals is breathtaking!
    Love and hugs,
    Darlene
    1. Thank you, dear friend. Yes, but at least with the weather being bad it isn't quite as frustrating! I do try to make the most of the natural light when it catches things, such as that rose.
      Love and hugs right back atcha! Deb xoxo
  6. Ouch! That must be so frustrating. Lying flat on your back on a hard surface can help settle the bones and release tension in the soft tissues as can gentle stretches. Wonderful pictures of the blooms in your garden. Aren't we lucky to share space with so many beautiful plants? CT
    1. Thank you ~ I did find some respite yesterday lying on the floor, but then I couldn't get up, so it turned into a bit of a drama! Not quite as frustrating as when the weather is good though. Yes, we are lucky to have so many wonderful things to share in our gardens.
  7. So sorry to hear about your back - so frustrating as when you get spasms it is so hard to do anything. Hope you feel better soon.
    Beautiful photos of your garden flowers. Our peony isn't in flower yet.
