Mothering Sunday Blessings

Gentle Reader ~~~

Today, March 15th 2015 is Mothering Sunday in Great Britain.

I have already written about this day, and how it differs from International Mother's Day in May, and you can read about it here

Sending Heartfelt Warmest Wishes for a Happy Mothering Sunday to All Mothers, wherever they are, and to all the Hu~mums of Fur Kids everywhere.

  1. It's on days like this that we really miss the mums that are no longer around.

    1. Yes, the camellia is in full swing now and I'll be posting more photographs soon. It is called "Debbie" and was given to the cottage for obvious reasons!

  3. Wishing Mums across the UK a lovely Mothering Sunday! It was so interesting to read about the traditions, Deb! I cherish the idea of children picking sweet, little posies for their mums. What lovely childhood memories you made with your grandmother, Deb! Camellia "Debbie" must be the most beautiful and sweetest flower in your whole garden! It is just gorgeous! ♡

  4. Thank you for that explanation, Deb. I had not heard it before. Though I do remember when I was a child, we had some recognition in church of the importance of our mothers, and it was less "commercialized" -- as was everything then, I suppose. Anyway, I like the history of your Mothering Sunday, and thank you for sharing it. Hello to you from over this side of the Pond, Jane xo

  5. That was an interesting read about the original meaning of the day. Too bad it has changed, but then, celebrating mothers twice a year can't be too bad of a thing! :-) Lovely flower!
